Runner Bean Growing In The Back Yard

Growing runner beans in a back yard no matter how small can definitely brighten the area up. It can be difficult to find a space which gets full sun all day but try to pick an area that gets most of the sun.

A peat based compost mixed with soil is a good place to start if your yard has no flower beds or soil and grow bags or large pots can be used.

It is an effective way to cover an old fence or wall but you might consider using a dwarf variety like Hestia

I would say this variety is a very good starting point for a beginner because they are very disease resistant, easy to grow and have beautiful red and white flowers.

Why not take a look at a nice selection of affordable and attractive pots and planters
